Effects of low-level hydroxy as a gaseous additive on performance and emission characteristics of a dual fuel diesel engine fueled by diesel/biodiesel blends

In the present study, water electrolysis was employed for Hydroxy gas (HHO) production as a gaseous additive. The engine test performed using Diesel, B5, and B20 pilot fuels. HHO imported into engine's combustion chamber at three volumetric flow rates of 3, 4, 5 cc/s through inlet manifold low-level rate.The setup single-cylinder dual-fueled diesel constant speed (1500 rpm) full load condition. According to results, by 3 4 did not have significant effect on BP, BTE, BSFC. Using significantly increased BP about 2.5, 3.1, 0.5% compared with B5 B20, respectively, decreased BSFC 11, 7.8, 13.5% respectively.HHO CO2 7, 6.3, 10.6% CO emissions 6, 14.3, 21.2% respectively.
